Marketing Hint: Know Your Audience

The best tip anyone can give you, is to know your audience.   How do you find your audience? Know your customers.    With Social Media becoming more and more relevant in marketing efforts, it is super important you know who your ideal client is and how to talk to them on social media.   If your ideal customer is a stay at home mother who enjoys crafts, then you might want to make sure you create all your messaging towards her. You would talk about family, special decorations for birthdays, or share a neat DIY (do-it-yourself) project. You would not want to talk about the cool new car that just came out on the market or the vacation you took to Las Vegas, because, well those topics might not interest your potential clients.   Remember Social Media is like a Ginormous networking event. When attending a networking event, you get to know others, build trust, and then sell. You never walk into a networking event with a huge sign over your head that says “Buy my Stuff” or walk up to someone you first met and say “This widget would be great for your car.” How do you know they need your widget?
